Van 8 tot en met 26 december konden bezoekers dagelijks gratis schaatsen op een indrukwekkende ijsbaan van 30 bij 15 meter, compleet met een speelse slingerroute voor extra schaatsplezier. Rondom de baan ontstond een winterse ontmoetingsplek met onder andere een curlingzone, warme winterse horeca in het Polar Pavilion en gezellige zitplekken op het sfeervolle Winter Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With an extensive programme of activities \u2013 from open skating and live music to a silent disco on ice and dedicated children\u2019s activities \u2013 U on Ice brought warmth, energy and festive spirit to the heart of the city. The event grew into a true winter hotspot where residents, visitors and local entrepreneurs came together to celebrate the December season. In total, U on Ice welcomed over 30,000 visitors to Jaarbeursplein. Additionally, the event generated more than 609,200 social media impressions through channels such as DUIC, AD, Indebuurt and RTV Utrecht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this initiative, the entrepreneurs of Beursplein Utrecht aimed not only to create a vibrant meeting place, but also an accessible and inclusive event for everyone. Admission was free, visitors could borrow skates at no cost and the programme catered to a wide range of audiences. For nearly three weeks, Jaarbeursplein became a place where people didn\u2019t just pass through, but stayed to experience winter together.<br><br><em>&#8220;The Groundbreakers ging door tot alles tot in de details klopte, was altijd bereikbaar en zorgde ervoor dat het geregeld werd &#8211; dat was heel waardevol en fijn samenwerken. Het doel van U on Ice was de levendigheid op het plein vergroten en echt een cadeau aan de inwoners van Utrecht te geven.
