Every month, The Groundbreakers puts an inspiring initiative, product or company in the spotlight. By sharing knowledge and inspiration, we want to stimulate sustainable developments and we hope to contribute to the greening of the business community. This time we would like to highlight the Court of Cartesius in Utrecht. The Groundbreakers team was given a tour of this circularly built workplace. Finally, we did a workshop at the second-hand hardware store Buurman Utrecht. Sign Again<\/strong> out; the very first fully recycled sheet material. An innovative product that takes reuse in the printing industry to a new level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Green revolution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the events industry, print materials are often used for signing and branding, for example. After use, the printing materials are often thrown away and not recycled properly. Sign Again offers a sustainable solution to this problem with the very first sheet material made entirely from used banners and cutting waste. An innovative product that contributes to reducing waste and promoting sustainability within the sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


Future ambition & necessity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sign Again has great ambitions. They want to change the norm for the printing industry and pave the way for a more sustainable and circular approach in the sector. The goal of Sign Again is to no longer purchase and sell print material once, but to loop and maintain it so that new raw materials are no longer required. The need for innovations like these are important for the sector. Due to new European legislation, the printing industry will have to deal with new regulations in the next two years. It states that at least 30% of the print products currently used must consist of recycled material.

Big win<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dutch Grand Prix is a major user of printing materials and indicates that it now uses Sign Again. Every year, 25,000 m2 of banners are placed in Zandvoort. These banners are recycled into Sign Again, resulting in no fewer than 10,000 plates that can be used at the next event. This would save more than 25,000 kg of CO2 compared to destroying the banners after use. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
